Walter J. Jones, 72, of Walton passed away after a long illness on January 3, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Born on November 29, 1948 in Walton, he was a son of the late Arthur and Hilda (Lewis) Jones.

Walter served our country with the United States Navy for four years. After his discharge, he served nine years with the National Guard. On June 12, 1971, he married Diane Babine. Walter was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Above all, he loved his family and was all all-around great man. His children couldn't have asked for a better parent.

Survivors include his loving wife Diane Jones; his children, Sheila Jones (Travis), Michelle Jones (John) and Eric Jones (Patricia); brothers, Robert Jones (Jean) and Thomas Jones; six grandchildren, Sierrah, Amber, Kody, Kora, Eli and Walter; four great-grandchildren, Damien, Laedon, Jonah and Julien; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Danny Jones and a sister, Loraine Saunders.

As per the family's request, there will be no services.
