Obituary

Walter J."Foxy" Stevens, 82 of Roscoe passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 31, 2005 at home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Stevens was born on November 15, 1922 in Southfields, NY, the son of the late Josiah and Vera Conklin Stevens. On November 11, 1944 he married Beatrice G. Martinet at Ramsey, NJ . He was employed for 36 years by Avon Products, Suffern. In 1980 he and Bea retired to Roscoe where he loved hunting, fishing, cutting, and splitting firewood.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice G. Stevens, three daughters: Brenda Clark and her husband, Donald of Rochester; Nancy Wilson and her husband, Paul of Rochester; Cindy Astor and her husband Mark, of Walton; three sisters, Elizabeth Wright, Thelma Parliament, and June Kern, all of Sloatsburg, 9 grandchildren, Timothy and Andy Clark, Ben, Richard, and Jacob Wilson, Kristen, Steven, Jonathan, and Joshua Astor,; 3 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jonah, and Noah, several , nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by 4 brothers, Peter, John, James, and William Stevens, and 1 sister, Blanche Hall.

Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects on Friday, September 2, 2005 from 7 to 9 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home 25 Townsend St, Walton.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Pines Brook Baptist Church, Walton, with the Rev. Carl Butler officiating. Burial will be in Hamden Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions in Walter's memory may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stoney Brook Court, Newburg, NY 12550.
