Wayne E. Hansen, 68 of Walton, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 22, 2009 in the Delaware Valley Hospital, Walton.

Wayne was born in Eldred, NY on December 2, 1940 the son of the late Martin L. and Clara Leavenworth Hansen. He was self employed at Wayne's Repair Shop, Walton. Wayne also loved to tinker and invent things, making parts for his airplane. He always had a colorful story or joke, told in his quiet sort of way. He was loved greately by his children.

Wayne is survived by four daughters: Barbara Jean Hansen of Virginia; , Susan (Mark) Smith of Johnstown, NY, Anna (Rick) Knapp of Centerville, Iowa; Rebecca Hansen of Johnstown, a stepson, Bradley Ingle, Walton; 11 grandchildren, Thomas, Michael, Stephanie, Anthony, Jessica, Tara, Ashley, Brian, Kelly, Eric, Kristen, 4 great grandchildren, twins, Katie Lowena and Krisi Lyn, Duncan, Jordan Christopher; a brother, Dick Hansen, North Carolina; a sister, Lois (Gary) McManus, Iowa; the mother of his children, Betty Ashley; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 5 to 7 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, NY. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
