William A. Bruce, 77, of Endicott, formerly of Walton, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Taft II IRA residence.

Bill was born on July 16, 1939 in Walton, the son of the late William P. and Julia (Adams) Bruce. He was predeceased by his sister, Louise Carey.

Bill was an avid sports fan. He loved watching his favorite team, the New York Yankees. He enjoyed coming to his hometown of Walton, attending the Delaware County Fair, and going to Mike and Jean's home where Jean's spaghetti and meatballs was always the special treat of the visit. At the Taft II Residence he was known as the unofficial greeter and watchman.

Bill is survived by his nieces, Joanne DeGraaf; Debbie Carey; Julie Carey; Penny Carey; Cindy Hendrickson; nephew, Thomas Carey; guardian and special friend, Michael and Jean DeGroat. He is also survived by his many wonderful caregivers and friends at the Taft II IRA.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, July, 14, 2017 from 11 AM to 12:30 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 PM at Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 25 Benton Avenue, Walton with Rev. Edward J. Golding, officiating. Burial will follow in the Walton Cemetery, Walton.
