Obituary

William W. Hayes, 80 of Walton, passed away early Wednesday morning October 13, 2004 in the Delaware Valley Hospital, Walton, after a long illness.

Bill was born in Queens, NY, the son of the late William and Julia Ann Ezrodt Hayes. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army. He married Grace Tisesi on August 15, 1970 at North Bergin, NJ. He lived in New Jersey most of his life and was self employed as a typwriter repair Technician. After retiring in 1984 he and his wife, Grace moved to a farm which they fell in love with and bought after seeing only once. Bill spent many hours on the land and in his barn. He also loved to hunt and shoot, and belonged to pistol clubs where he made many friends.

Bill is survived by his loving wife: Grace , two daughters: Julie and Bill Benken of Phoenix, Arizona, Peggy and Gary Zazzi of Staten Island, NY; 4 grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, Erica, and Jeffrey; 2 sisters, Dorothy Wells, and Loraine Gould; several neices, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his dog, Gretchen and his cat, Kitty Cat.

Friends and family may call Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00, and 7:00 to 9:00 PM, October 17, 2004 at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, Walton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11:00 am at St John The Baptist Church, Walton, with the Rev. Michael Flannery officiating.

Burial will be in Walton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Bill's memory may be made to St. John the Baptist Church, Walton, or Mountain Valley Hospice. Envelopes for memorial contributions are available by contacting the funeral home.
