William D. Jackson, 79, of Walton passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Fox Hospital in Oneonta, NY.
William was born December 28, 1933 in Walton, the son of the late Percy and Anna C. (Wolf) Jackson. He married Lina Bloomer in Portlandville, New York.
William was employed by Breakstone's in Walton as a Supervisor and the Village of Walton Dog Worden for many years. He was a member of the Walton Fire Department for over 30 years. He enjoyed going to Cooperstown and Laurens to go hunting and fishing, going to ball games and watching the children play sports.
William is survived by his loving family, his wife, Lina (Bloomer) Jackson, his children, Marilyn (Gary) Ramsey, Janice French, Andrew (Sherry) Jackson, Lorrie (Vernon) Brown, Jr., Kay Wager, his grandchildren, Karen Cappiello, Sara (Joe) Ingalls, Julie (Darryl) Merwin, Helena French and friend, Ben, Jessica (John) Mullen, Rebecca (Scott) Watford, Andrew and friend, Savanna, William Brown and friend Pam, Krista Brown and friend Joe, Elizabeth Brown, Peter and Douglas Wager, his great grandchildren, Zachary, Hailey, Alexia, Ava, Addisyn, Jackson, Janie May, Jordan, Marley, Sophia, his sisters, Margaret Bailey, Catharine Ward, his sister in law, Janet Jackson, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his sisters, Minnie VanDeMark, and Ruth Kelsey, and his brothers, Percy John, Ambrose, and Arthur Jackson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 1PM at the United Presbyterian Church, 58 East Street, Walton, with the Rev. Dr. Lisa Ruth Mays.
Memorial Contributions in William's memory may be made to the Walton Fire Department, 61 West Street, Walton, New York 13856.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
