Obituary

William C. Kilmer, 90, a lifelong resident of Walton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Delaware Valley Hospital.

Bill was born on April 26, 1921 in Walton the son of the late Arthur and Maude (Bowker) Kilmer. On August 17, 1947 he married the former Dorothy Bevins.

Bill was self employed on the family dairy farm. He was a faithful member of the Pines Brook Baptist Church where he went to church 3 days a week for scripture readings. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in the stone quarry, and playing the Acoustic Guitar, the Pedal Steel Guitar, and the Banjo. He also played the fiddle without the bow. In his younger days he had a chance to go to Nashville to play but decided that his family was more important, than traveling as a musician.

Bill is survived by his loving family, his wife, Dorothy, his children, Patricia Cieluszak (Dave) of Tonawanda; Raymond (Mary) Kilmer of Walton; Joan (Russell) Neale of Walton; Jean Gorga of Walton; Judy (Bert) Beardslee of Walton; Tim (Wendy) Kilmer of Walton; Laurie Kilmer of Buffalo; Tom Kilmer of Walton; his grandchildren, Mandy, Kellee, Margaret, Will, Crystal, Tiffany, Michael, Connie, Randy, Christopher, Rebecca, Timmy, Katrina, Nicholas, his 21 great grandchildren, his sister, Betty Johnston of Walton; his brothers, Roger (Paulette) Kilmer of Walton; Theodore (Muriel) Kilmer of Gilboa; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Catherine Lucille, his brothers, Arthur, Jr., Jack, Eugene Ray, Roy, and Ken.

Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton, where services will be held at 1PM with the Rev. Carl Butler officiating.
