William R. O´Dell, Sr., 86 a life long resident of Walton, passed away peacefully Monday evening in Countryside Care Center, Delhi.

Bill was born on Marvin Hollow on September 28, 1919, the son of the late Wilbert and Ada Northrup O´Dell. He was a graduate of Walton Central School, class of 1938. He married the former Hazel Wright on January 24, 1943 at the Congregational Church. He was employed as Service Manager by Walton Farm Supply. Bill was a man who valued the love of his family.

Bill is survived by his wife: Hazel, 4 sons, Charles (Ginny) O'Dell, Walton; David (Bonnie) O'Dell, Liberty; James O'Dell, Walton; Bruce ( Kathy) O'Dell, Delhi; 2 daughters, Millie (George) Baker, Martinsburg, PA; and Ruth (Emmett) Reilly, Buffalo, 10 grandchildren, Kevin, "TJ" Jenifer, Scott, Pete, Tom, Chuck, Jessica, Brett, David; 12 great grandchildren, a sister in law, Norma Vigus, Delhi, several neices, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son William R. O'Dell Jr. in 2001, 3 brothers, Preston, Jessee, and Ralph O'Dell, 2 sisters, Marion Howes, and Leona O'Dell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Friday, September 8, 2006 at the First Congregational Church, Walton, with the Rev. Jennifer Matison Juliano officiating, assisted by Rev Joe Bokel. A calling hour will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
