William A. Rowell, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many passed away January 31 at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton.

Bill was born in Walton Feb. 28, 1926 and was predeceased by his loving wife, Doris, of 60 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Mahlon and Anna Wood Rowell; his brother, Junius; and his sisters, Helen Dag, Dorothy Goodrich, and Marjorie Banks . He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Melissa, of Apalachin, NY; and grandsons, Spencer, of Dallas, TX, and Alexander, of Norfolk, VA; and a sister, Thelma McCoy, of Walton.

Bill grew up on a farm on Russell Road, Walton and was a graduate of Walton High School. He worked for Lawrence B. DuMond, SJ Bailey, and became a manager of Agway Farm Store where he worked until his retirement.

He attended Northfield Community Church for many years. He loved sports, music, gardening, family get togethers, and just plain visiting.

Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 9:30AM to 11:00AM at the Riverside Alliance Church, 110 Stockton Avenue, Walton where services will be held at 11:00AM with Rev. Marv Root, officiating. Burial will take place in the spring in the Walton Cemetery.
