Sulger
November 2, 1925 – June 1, 2017
William L. Sulger, 91, a lifelong resident of Walton, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at home, following a long illness.
Bill was born on November 2, 1925 in Walton, the son of the late William A. and Velma (Goodrich) Sulger. On May 29, 1952 he married the former Anna Wood. They just celebrated on Monday, 65 years of marriage.
Bill worked for many years at Breakstone's in the Maintenance Department, where he was known to be able to fix just about anything. He loved spending time with his family, spoiling the grandchildren, and taking care of his home. Some of his favorite things to do were bowling, golfing, hunting, fishing, and taking care of his vegetable gardens.
Bill is survived by his loving family, his wife, Anna, his children, William (Karina) Sulger of Walton and Bruce (Jane) Sulger of Greene; a daughter in-law, Lori Sulger; grandchildren, Casey, Brooke, Becky, Sara, Emily, great grandchildren, Marissa, Dominic, Alexa, Madison, Logan, brother, John and Betty Sulger of High Point, NC, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his sons, Daniel and Mark Sulger, brothers, Victor and Robert Sulger, and his sister, Elizabeth Fox.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 1 PM at Walton Cemetery, Walton with Pastor Bob Wilkie, officiating. Arrangements are with Courtney funeral home, Walton.
